Get It Before Xmas: Breitling Windrider

mens watches
This week, we are covering just a few of the designer watches available during our Countdown to Christmas celebration. Order any one of these 500 timepieces before this Saturday the 22nd and we guarantee you will receive it in time for Christmas Day morning. Included in this sale are brands for kids like Activa, Dunlop, and Timex but we also carry watchmakers for more refined tastes, such as-- well, Breitling watches.

Breitling comes up frequently on our blog because in 125 years, the Swiss watchmaker still manages to craft some of the best modern luxury watches without losing a flair for the classic. If you truly forced us, we would probably out the Windrider/Cockpit timepieces as our favorite womens watches.

Do not be discouraged by the unwieldy title and model number. MOP Dial? What is that supposed to mean? Relax, last-minute gift seeker. MOP stands for mother of pearl. Also known as nacre, it is the strong, iridescent material that coats pearls and some mollusk shells. The dial refers to the face of the wristwatch--you know, with all of the hands and numbers. Now that you know the dial build, you might also be interested to know that it is encrusted with 40 white diamonds and solid rose gold. Well, we thought it worth mentioning.

Last Minute Luxury: Breitling Navitimer

womens watches
On our homepage, you might notice a new section labeled "Featured Watches," which sports a decuplet (or group of ten, if you prefer) of discounted luxury watches from some of the finest brands in our current inventory including Bulgari, Cartier, Swiss Legend, Invicta, and others. We curated this selection for the discerning gift shoppers who are constantly on the go. Listen, we understand how busy you are, which is why we assembled this Last Minute Luxury For Less page: the crème de la crème of designer watches.

Near the top of this selection are the various Breitling watches on display. Our personal pick today is the Navitimer Chrono-Matic 49 series or A1436002/Q556 for the model number aficionados out there. While the dial is difficult to ignore, we cannot help but be drawn toward the textured mesh bracelet made of stainless steel. Luminous is a word commonly tossed around within the timepiece market, but we believe the band here truly warrants the adjective.

Of course, the dial is certainly no slouch either. The Navitimer remains one of the few watches that can claim official certification from the COSC (Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres) so while you will likely never run out of features to brag about to your colleagues, you can always pull that one out.

Become Executive Material with Breitling

mens watches
Moving on with our new holiday arrivals, today we would like to highlight one of our absolute favorite watchmakers, Breitling. This year, we have been inundated (in a good way) with new, extraordinary Breitling watches. We are especially partial to the Windrider/Blackbird series for men.

Try not to gawk at the stainless steel beauty to your immediate right. This auto/mechanical chronograph, perhaps more than any other, is an irresistible boardroom conversation accessory. In fact, these luxury watches probably deserve to be part of the rite of passage for junior executives when they earn their keys to the executive washroom.

The watch face, on its own, is remarkable. The two-toned ivory and silver hands are sharp and precise, and the deep red accents found in the second hand and subdials is a stylish touch. Also note the engraved cardinal directions and tachymeter around the bezel. Everything about this watch, from its black dial to its stainless steel bracelet, demands authority. As an added bonus, this particular model is among a limited edition set of 2,000. You can usually get this watch for 30% off any time of the year, but for the special holiday season we have taken an additional $600 off. Order before 2 p.m. EST to have it shipped the same day!

Save Big with Our Breitling Savings Event

mens watches
Of all of the designer brand names that populate our collection, Breitling are among our personal top tier list without a doubt. Originally founded by--who else--Léon Breitling in 1884, the company is headquarted in Grenchen, Canton of Solthum, or Switzerland to the rest of us. What is perhaps most endearing about the brand is that many of their timepieces continue to use mechanical automatic winding systems in lieu of modern electronics. And lucky for you, for one week only, you can purchase one of these famous luxury watches for up to 64% off the retail list price!

Many of our high end Breitling watches are the last ones in stock, but fortunately we still have a few of this model: the Navitimer Automatic Mechanical Chrono Silver Dial for men. Sporting a light brown, genuine leather strap, this watch is made for the everyday adventurer. Whether you are hacking through vines deep in the Amazon rainforest or hosting a slideshow in the executive boardroom, the Navitimer will never look out of place on you. The watch face itself is one of the most technically impressive that we have ever seen. With three intricate subdials and a near dizzying amount of time markers, the Navitimer is sure to please. And at 57% off, we guarantee it!

Our Pre-Black Friday Sale Is Going on Now!

mens watches
Quick, what do you call the savings event before Black Friday? To be honest, we were not too sure ourselves, but that hardly means you cannot save big on our most prized Breitling watches during our Pre-Black Friday Sale right now.

We mentioned a specific brand, Breitling, for a reason. Take a look at the Windrider Automatic/Mechanical Chrono White Diamond Dial to the right. That sounds like a mouthful, no? Those are a lot of words and usually those words together equal a lot of greenbacks. The going retail price is over $10,000. The going Watchery price cuts it to about six-and-a-half. Already we have a major improvement, but for this week's sale we have driven the price down even further to under $4,500, or as we like to call it, 57% off the list price!

In the rarefied air that Breitling mens watches occupy, the Windrider series stands as one of the best. The bezel itself is a sight to behold. Featuring 40 individual encrusted white diamonds and solid 18k gold accents, the unidirectional stainless steel rim surrounds luminous hands and some of the most intricate subdials we have ever seen. Expect several gifts as compensation if you place this under the tree this season.

Save Big on the Bestsellers

Everyone's fashion tastes differ, but sometimes we cannot help but love what we see someone else wearing. That little twinge of jealousy strikes and suddenly we want to own that item. It is perfectly natural and it is why at The Watchery we devote an entire webpage to the bestselling watches at our store, so you too can purchase a beautiful timepiece for your collection. Not only can you locate the most popular watches, customers can enjoy extra discounts on top of our already reduced prices.

So what are some popular choices? Customers on a budget will enjoy the sporty look of the men's Tissot PRC200. The black leather offers contrast to the white dial and stainless steel case. Three subdials and a tachymetre keep the wearer on track. The watch retails for $475, but we are selling it for $336.47.

Watch aficionados willing to invest more on a sporty, yet elegant and stylish watch, will fall in love with the Breitling Windrider. The cool stainless steel is offset but a deep blue dial with silver hands and numerals. The movement is Swiss-made, naturally, and it is self-winding mechanical with three subdials. It is easy to see why this is a bestseller. The timepiece is normally $6,500, but is discounted to $4,550.

A Sale for Breitling Fans

Breitling watches has a loyal following thanks to their superior quality and sleek, stylish designs for aviation professionals. The company has a long history, beginning in the watch capital of the world, Switzerland. The company revolutionized the chronograph watch, focusing on extremely accurate timepieces for pilots and those in the aviation industry, where detail matters. For a limited time select Breitling watches are on sale, some up to 50% off the original price--and watch aficionados know that quality timepieces come at a high price.

Rose gold is a beautiful choice for a men's watch, adding just the right touch of a subtle pink. The Windrider 18-karat rose gold watch will make quite the impression. Rose gold is interweaved throughout the stainless steel bracelet, as well as on the bezel, hands, and markers. Even the three subdials are rose gold, but it is not overwhelming in the least. The watch retails for $9,215, but with our added sale price, the watch is reduced to $4,550.

Breitling is not exclusively for men, though. The women's Windrider comes in various styles, both stainless steel and leather straps in various colors. The watches in the collection range from $2,095-$3,895 depending on which you choose. From mother of pearl dials to rose gold tones, the timepieces range in beauty, but not quality. Enjoy the savings on our Breitling watches from The Watchery!

A Jump Start on Fall

It's the middle of August and it is doubtful that many people have fall fashions on their mind. Or maybe they do because they're so tired of wearing shorts and sweating excessively when just walking down the block. Although we can't jump ahead in time and enjoy cooler weather already, we can at least prepare with a few shopping purchases. If you head into clothing stores, you'll already see fall attire and accessories lined up along the racks.

So what can we expect this fall? For once, not brown, orange, and dark red. Well, those colors will always be around in the autumn, but you will also notice a lot of white white, plum, and bright red. These seemingly odd color choices are riding the coattails of the intense colors of spring and summer.

Here at The Watchery you can already enjoy discounts on some hot, new watches for the fall. If you're looking to match the fall colors, try the Swiss Precimax Luxe for women. The stark white bracelet with a luminous mother of pearl face and touches of gold on the dial and hands will blend in perfectly. Prefer bright red to white? Men can check out the Swiss Legend Neptune watch. With both a red face and strap, the watch is hard to miss.

And of course if following fall fashions exactly isn't your style, there are still hundreds of luxury timepieces, from Breitling to U-Boat, to match accordingly with your fall attire staples.

Sports Watches and the Olympics

It's hard to believe four years have passed since the last summer Olympics, but here we are again. Or at least we'll be there soon --on July 27 to be more precise. With an interest in the Olympics comes an interest in sports. Naturally an interest in sports leads to sports watches. Whether people are looking for a durable sports watch to wear while jogging or they just prefer the cool, stylish look of an aviation watch, the watch market will see a bit of a surge in sports watch collections across the board.

Omega is the official brand of the London Olympics and they have a limited edition watch to commemorate the occasion too, the Omega Seamaster 1948 Co-Axial London 2012. But Omega won't be the only brand people are interested in. Depending on one's budget and tastes, consumers will flock to other brands who have made a name for themselves in the sporting world, such as Citizen, Seiko, Tag Heuer, and Breitling --if you prefer aviation timepieces. The diversity of sports and the Olympics parallels the diversity of luxury sports timepieces and the market has a watch to appease all our needs. From hot pink digital watches for teenage girls to more sophisticated divers' watches, consider adding a sports watch to your casual collection from The Watchery. With great deals and discounts, find that perfect luxury watch.

Watches for Summertime Luxury

Although summer didn't "officially" begin until this week, many of us have already been dressing the part thanks to warm weather and sun-filled days. Along with your summer wardrobe should be accessories to match. Here at The Watchery we're offering incredible discounts on luxury timepieces perfectly suited for breezy, fun attire. With bright colors filling your wardrobe, it only makes sense your watches match. Loud, neon colors are in style, watches included.

But if the idea of hot pink, purple, or neon orange seems a bit much, we have more neutral selections from Breilting, Cartier, Bulova, and more. Take for instance the Bulova Marine Star. A white leather strap and mother of pearl dial will wipe out any shades of darkness this summer. And the rose gold casing adds the right hint of color. It's a beautiful watch for women, offering a light, airy appeal.

For the man on a budget, the Jacques Lemans Monza features beautiful brown leather strap with a silver and rose case and rose hands. The watch is currently on sale for $108.68, now 73% off the retail price with our additional sale discount. With more discounts on watches, shoppers don't have to spend a lot this summer to brighten up their wardrobe. With a vast selection of watches perfect for the season, the hardest part is only picking one watch.

Luxury Watches and Designer Watches are Discount Watches at The Watchery

Watches, like fashion, are also subject to trends. Currently, watch manufacturers are favoring cleaner styles that are understated yet stylish. And here at The Watchery, those luxury watches and designer watches are also discount watches.

Watchmakers are abandoning the oversized cases and diamond-heavy bezels that dominated the show floor in Switzerland just a few short years ago and are instead prying open their vaults to re-discover the clean dials and marker shapes of bygone eras.

Legacy and tradition tap into the emotional mindset of the consumer. They connect the wearer to a simpler, less complicated time and allow watchmakers to attach meaning to their product. This is essential in an era that is flooded with consumer goods and gadgets that threaten to make the wristwatch extinct.

However, while the faces of mens watches appear to be shrinking, womens watch cases do appear to be growing.

In both the mens watch and womens watch markets, however, the designer watch manufacturers seem to have gone back to their archives for inspiration. Watches flaunt lean, simple looks that are reminiscent of luxury watch styles from the 1950s and 1960s. For example, this year Breitling unveiled an updated version of the “Transocean” chronograph that first debuted in 1958. Likewise, Seiko launched a limited edition 2011 version of their 1960s Grand Seiko, in celebration of the watch manufacturer's 130th anniversary.

At The Watchery we carry a vast selection of watches. Our luxury watch inventory spans the world's most popular watch brands, including Tag Heuer, Breitling, Seiko and Invicta. Our designer watches also extend across all price points, with marked down prices at up to 90% off suggested retail price. You are guaranteed to find the watch you are looking for at The Watchery. You will most likely be surprised to see just how far your budget can go.

Post-Oscar Monday Has Us Asking, Which Brand Name Watches Do Our Favorite Celebrities Love?

brad-pitt- for Tag HeuerIt's the morning after the 2012 Academy Awards and our conversations this morning were all about the red carpet glamour, the winners, the losers... And it also had us, here at The Watchery, wondering "Which luxury watches do our favorite celebrities love?" And do you think they like to get their favorite designer watches on sale? So, we did a little digging and discovered that when it comes to mens luxury watches, Brad Pitt is a Tag Heuer ambassador (although he also has been known to sport a Breitling watch), while George Clooney opts for an Omega.

The red carpet last night was a fabulous display of high-fashion amongst Hollywood's leading ladies, many of whom are style icons. Of course, these days a beautiful watch is an important element of any fashionable woman's look but no more so than in Hollywood. Cameron Diaz loves her Tag Heuer watch, while Jennifer Aniston prefers a Rolex Presidential Day-Date watch. On the other hand, last night's Oscar winner, Meryl Streep, sports a watch by Jaeger-Le Coultre and Angelina Jolie wears brand name watches by Tissot.

At eWatches we have plenty of celebrity-worthy brand name watches at fabulously discounted prices.

Breitling Watches: Did You Know?

Breitling is a luxury brand of Swiss watches headquartered in Grenchen, Canton of Solothurn. Luxury watches and Top of The Line Cars: A marriage made in heaven

There has been an age-old relationship between luxury watches and cars. They both strive for perfection. Lovers of one tend to be fans of the other, and of course there are similarities in their construction, too. A watch movement, is, for example, akin to a car's engine; the watch case to a chassis. In addition, both watches and cars are judges not just on their design but also their performance. What's more, many watches have see-through backs which is probably for the same reason that so too do Ferrari's V8s and Lamorghini's V10s, whose engines are proudly visible just behind the cockpit.

Both the watch and car industries have long recognized this very connection between performance cars and mechanical watches. So much so, that the two have often partnered in a number of ways in order to capitalize on it.

Many of our favorite luxury watch and Swiss watch manufacturers have teamed up with luxury car manufacturers. Some of our favorites? Breitling and Bentley, Tag Heuer and Porsche, Tag Heuer and Mercedes, Pannerai and Ferarri.... There is a timeless partnership between Swiss Watches and luxury cars. Long may it continue.

Watch Trends Alert: Silver And Gold

Though mixed metal watches are a classic look, we have been noticing a recent surge in popularity for silver watches that are accented with features and highlights in gold and rose gold. Two-tone watches are traditionally bracelet-style watches, however these days we see mixed-metal looks on many types of watch silhouette including chronograph and divers watches.

Though the watch style looks "rich" it doesn't have to cost a fortune to replicate and thanks to our pre Valentine's Day Sweetheart Deals, prices are better than ever with up to 90% off RRP. So, if you are looking for the perfect something for your favorite someone this romantic holiday season, why not give them the gift of a stylish, two-tone watch? They'll be sure to thank you.

ROLEX: Men's Datejust Automatic Pink Champagne/ Black Dial Jubilee Stainless Steel and 18k Solid Rose Gold. The Watchery price: $8,320 (RRP: $10,400

The Allure of Designer Watches

This afternoon, Gucci posted on their Facebook page about their watch collection. The Italian design house stated: "In the 1970s, Gucci was the first luxury house to add watches to its offering? The tradition continues today with our Gucci Timeless and Coupé collection." And Gucci watches continue to be popular amongst watch-loving consumers.

Indeed, many of our Watchery customers love Gucci watches in particular, and a design-house timepiece in general because they can add a fabulous statement to your look. Design-house watches, by labels such as Gucci, Fendi, Armani and so forth, offer the status symbol appeal without the earth-shattering price tags of Swiss-made luxury watches by esteemed watch manufacturers such as Breitling, Rolex, Cartier and more.

The latest design house to jump on the bandwagon is Roberto Cavalli who announced last week that he is teaming up with coveted Swiss watch manufacturer, Franck Mueller, for a new range of Roberto Cavalli watches.
The time pieces will cost from $1,600 to $7,600, with entry level timepieces up to more luxurious items.

No word yet on whether The Watchery will be stocking Cavalli's highly coveted new watch collection but watch this space...

How to Choose a Man's Watch

The best men's watches are not necessarily the ones from the most expensive watch brands on the market. Though a watch is often an investment, it does have to suit your budget. Your new men's watch should also look good on you and fit your personality.

How do you select the best watch for you? We have written up our list of some of the best ways to choose. Here, our advice on choosing a men's watch.

  • When it comes to mens' watches, one of the most universal types is the chronograph style. They can be worn by anyone because it doesn't matter what they are worn with--they always say 'cool and casual' or 'sporty.'
  • When selecting a watch you also have to consider your build and a watch-face size that suits you.
  • Leather v. plastic v. metal? Most people can carry each of these bracelet types well but you need to get the appearance right for your look. For example, you wouldn't want to sport the plastic rubber band for a formal affair.

At The Watchery we have a diverse selection of men's watches at significantly reduced prices. From domestic brands such as Activa and Invicta to luxury Swiss watches by Tag Heuer and Breitling. You will undoubtedly find the right men's watch for you at The Watchery.

The Watchery Reports: The Swiss watch industry is increasingly defying the economic climate

The Watchery is thrilled to report that the Swiss watch industry has recently seen a huge increase in sales with consumers looking to invest in quality items.

Sales of Swiss watches have bucked the trend in the luxury goods market, with more timepieces than ever before being bought.

While other areas of manufacturing in Switzerland have been experiencing difficult times, the Financial Times reported that the watch sector has been seeing booming sales, with sales of watches such as Tag Heuer, Rolex and Breitling all seeing strong increases in their sales.

In total, the number of items sold across these ranges rose by 16 per cent year-on-year to November 2011.

The Watchery carries many Swiss-made watches and sells them at discounted prices to their loyal consumer-base.
