Timeless Timepieces: Flyback Chronograph Watches

Allow us to begin this week's blog post with a brief disclaimer. We think digital watches are just fine, really they are. Different strokes for different timepieces. But look at this one to the right and tell us that it is not one of the finest divers' watches you have ever seen. Go on, try.

There is something truly remarkable about the flyback chronograph watches from Blancpain. Although Breitling and Longines pioneered the flyback in the early 20th century (and we certainly would not want to take that away from them), for us, the Air Command watches are as good as they come.

The Air Command series of watches are meticulously crafted with the special F-185 caliber, the smallest self-winding chronograph movement in the world. The Fifty Fathoms GMT model you see here incorporates 308 total parts and components in its movement, making it the apex of both function and style.

As this is a true divers' watch, the back, crown, and pushpieces are all screw locked, with guaranteed water resistance up to nearly 1,000 feet. A staple of pilots of the 1930s, this watch is built for regular use and is sure to be a mainstay for another 80 years.

Why not a watch steeped in the tradition of watch making from a company which never manufactured a Quartz Watch, even in the deep dark days of the Quartz Scare. I am referring to a Blancpain ladies watch.
It is the color of this timepiece that caught my eye - an arresting blue shimmering like a swimming pool in the summers sun. Bold Arabic Numerals don the face as partially skelotonized hands indicate the time in traditional analog display. A bezel paved with 180 fine diamonds encircle the dial ,which is protected by scratch resistant Sapphire crystal. A superior movement ,never needing to be wound at the crown, but rather by the gentle swinging motion of ones arm,. The mechanical movement visible via a screw down sapphire crystal case back has a power reserve capability of 100 hours. A blue rubber strap merges tradition with advancement, utilizing the material of today and protecting the horological heritage of the past.

THE WATCHERY has a huge selection of ladies watches by highly reputable brand names such as Cartier, Concord,Baume & Mercier, Zenith, Perrelet, Eterna, Ebel, Corum, Edox & many many more.

Mark this Valentines Day with a timeless gift. Give your Valentine a Luxury Wristwatch from THE Watchery,

Piaget Limelight Love Letter Timepiece

Where is the watch you say, well open the envelope and find out. Elegantly crafted from 18-Karat white gold, the rectangular case is an envelope. On the top triangular portion of the envelope flap, the eternal word "love" is engraved in romantic Victorian lettering. Lift the hinge lid accentuated with a cabochon ruby and the diamond set word "you" is displayed. The Watch is present behind the second hinge where its 56P quartz movement is working with precise determination. 130 round-brilliant cut demands adorn the watch. The Romantic look is completed with a finely grained satin strap and 18K white golf folding clasp. This watch will definitely draw an audible and quite jealous gasp from her friends.

A Luxury Watch is an Investment for Life.

A luxury watch is an investment for life. The Holidays are so near you can just about smell the Holiday food bubbling on the stove. The decorations are up, the shopping fever is in the air. You have been dabbling about the idea of buying a watch for the past couple of weeks, and you cannot make up your mind.
Well here are a few pointers you should keep in mind while making your decision.

The better watch you buy, the longer it will last. A Watch crafted by Blancpain, whose watch making is deeply rooted in tradition and excellence, where every tiny part is labored upon with obsessive perfection, will last into the next generation. Your great grandson eighty years from now will treasure your watch.

It is not with wasted breath that I touch upon this subject. I know that we are officially in a recession, and I do know there is no room for waste. A cheap watch whose movements were glanced upon without much thought to its resiliency is no more than a gamble. The stock market is enough of a seesaw. In this volatile economy, companies are giving its consumers outrageous deals and the prices on luxury watches have dropped. So although things may be tight, a luxury watch is one of the best gifts you can buy. Fancy electronic gadgets depreciate as soon as you open that tough plastic. Next week you will be kicking yourself by not waiting for Model #200041 as your Model# 200040 suddenly became outdated and slid down to a fraction of a price. Gateway computers are not exactly collectibles, if you know what I mean.

However, a luxury watch is an investment and in a couple years from now, with adequate maintenance, your watch value could have doubled. Not to mention the attachment factor of you to your watch. To say that your mechanical luxury watch will become outdated is to say that time is an old concept. If someone comes up with a better idea than time, I rest my case. But for now the passage of time is what we got and to keep track of it will never become obsolete.

Take advantage of the amazing low deals The Watchery is offering throughout the Holiday Season on a vast amount of styles for men and women. Give a gift that bears witness to the passage of time. Give a gift that will never be shoved in the bottom draw or stand unused on a kitchen counter. Give a gift and be appreciated.

In the mood for some luxury watch fun and joy?

Do you need to brighten your life with relaxing luxury watches? Do you feel the stress of it all getting to you? I mean the Dow dropping below 8000 points and winter approaching and all that... I do not need to tell you the stressors of life. You need to break the cycle of stress and invest in a watch that has a calming happy effect. You need a watch that exudes a sense of control over time. Stress and anxiety is bad for the health. So I have scoured the vast array of high quality watches at The Watchery and I have hand picked my favourite "feel good" watches.

It will be quite a challenge to be gloomy with this Raymond Weil W1 Chronograph on your wrist. The lime green dial exudes warmth and well being.

A watch collection with the named "Happy" definitely appeals to the emotions of the wearer. This watch from Chopard has all the right key words and aesthetic appeal to bring forth images of fun and happiness. Happy + Sports + Beach and besides there are tiny little glittery fishies suspended happily above a sea of blue. (I am thinking vacation, warm sun, endless beaches and happy happy fish)

Blancpain's Villeret ladies 18 K White Gold Blue Mother of Pearl Dial emulates a mid afternoon summer sky with gently cirrus clouds wafting overhead.

This Corum Pyrimid Ladies Watch broadcasts fun, fun, fun. Sugar Cube's dial is tiny , a mere 16 mm across and 11 mm high. Its bright colors and "cotton candy pink" band with vivacious numerals on the dial pulsate with joy.

What better way to bring a smile to your face than Gerald Genta's Fantasy Watch. Yep! Thats Mickey and I am sure you have plenty happy childhood memories associated with that cute little mouse and besides Mickey has such a happy expression on his face as he points the time while balancing on one foot. Gerald Genta is a genius in Watch Design and his Fantasy Collections are my favorite.

There is also another good reason to smile or dance or wave your hands in the air with pure uncontrolable happiness - THE WATCHERY has lowered its prices just in time for the Holidays. Mind-Blowing Discounts. Check it out. You will not believe your eyes, some timepieces are 80% the List Price. Amazing. The Watchery has lowered its prices to make you happy for the Holiday Season. And I can assure you once you see the low low prices - Happy you will be!
