Watch news: Seiko Announces New Line of Luxury Watches

Yesterday (Wednesday, February 1 2012), Seiko launched a new line of luxury watches in India. The line initially went on sale in India as the Japanese watch company has recently experienced enormous growth in popularity across the country in recent years. The new line of watches is called Ananta. Seiko watch India president, Susumu Kawanishi says the designs are influenced by Japanese Katana swords. The range boasts 15 models priced at Rs 1 lakh to Rs 5 lakh.

"Over the last few years, we have witnessed an impeccable growth potential for quality watches in India. With the launch of Ananta, we want to reinforce our commitment of providing cutting edge technology watches,” Seiko Watch India president Susumu Kawanishi said while unveiling the collection.

In addition to the new luxury watch range of Ananta by Seiko watches in India, the company, that operates 250 stores across 61 Indian cities, plans to open 10 exclusive Seiko boutiques across the country in the next three years.

No word yet on when--or if--the Ananta by Seiko line of watches will make its way over to the US. Stay tuned!
