Watch news: Cartier Turns to Discreet Watches to Assuage Luxury Guilt

Cartier watches announced today that they are making subdued watch models that are not ostentatious displays of wealth. This has seen them with sales that exceed their luxury watch rivals.

The watch manufacturer whose clientelle have included royalty and Hollywood celebrities alike claims that their more discreet watches, like their best-selling Cartier Ballon Bleu, has helped them grow their market share of the luxury watch market.

"Bigger watches are losing a bit of ground today," Cartier watches Chief Executive Officer Bernard Fornas said in an interview in Geneva. "When you are in crisis periods you show off less and you have shapes that are more discreet and more ergonomic. The feel- guilty factor is very important."

The Watchery carries a number of beautiful Cartier watches and discounts them for added savings.
